Ultimately, having looked around and tried many apps, Things 3 fit the bill for me at the time. Note: I like to see my calendar events in my to do apps, but I don’t like seeing all of my to do’s in my calendar…… The inline calendar events are done very well, and the whole experience is solid. It has a beautiful UI, it’s silky smooth, and feels very very nice to use. Let's you organize information in a way that works for you. I treat it as a kind of personal database/wiki for things I"m interested in keeping track of because the layouts and customization is its strengths. The main reason I use it though, is because its a nice way to keep all my ideas in an organized and presentable manner. I feel like there's too much friction just to create a task and mark a task as complete. Not to mention its terrible for recurring tasks. Too much time is spent loading, it breaks a lot of flow. Its mobile app also sucks for anything you need to update.

There's no Offline mode last time I checked which is a major bummer if you're having a random outage. Notion is great at a lot of things, but one of the major issues is that it requires an internet connection to use. And even though the built-in pomodoro is barebones, i found it the best pomodoro app out there. Its super functional and the simplicity is its strength. I can access it on my phone or any computer very easily and the reminder/notification features on the phone app is way better than anything else I've tried. TickTick is very simple and cross platform. If I had to pick only one, I prefer TickTick over Notion. I don't use clickup because the "free version" is basically a trial. I use both TickTick and Notion for different things.
